Manual for Waterfront Getaway with a MotorBoat

We’re thrilled to have you here and can’t wait for you to enjoy the peaceful beauty of White Lake, NY. We’ve thought of everything to make this stay comfortable, so please feel free to explore, make yourself at home, and let us know if there’s anything you need. Here’s to a memorable stay! Enjoy 😊

Distance: It takes 2 hours from JFK or 1:40min from Newark airport, but it depends on traffic. The road is beautiful in every season of the year. Just drive carefully.

The house is right on White Lake, NY, also known as the town of Bethel.  We’re a 5 minute drive away from the famous Woodstock festival site & museum  (https://www.bethelwoodscenter.org/museum)

🛣️Directions

Drive on Co Rd 117 Rd once you've arrived. Continue on the road until you see the sign 1528 NY-17B, You have arrived!

We recommend to start and slow down right after the gas station, and be on the look out of cars driving faster when you turn on into the house.

If the gate is closed, just bring the car as close as you can to the gate, so you can get out of the car safely, and open the gate.
(it opens inside the property)

🚗 Parking

Our property has parking for up to 2 cars ONLY; please enter our driveway completely after the fence.

We do not recommend parking on the main road. Your car may be towed away.

House Rules

We did everything possible so you can feel at home, but please remember that this is our house, and we put our heart & soul into it. Please take care of it like it is yours.

  • What can you use? Whatever you see in the house.

  • Most of the light switches are marked.

  • Some of the switches and connected devices are marked DON’T UNPLUG. Please don’t unplug them, and if you did, please plug them back.

  • Please Return all remotes to their place. Otherwise, they will get lost, and future guests won’t be able to use them.

  • The house and our property is entirely 100% smoking free.

  • No vapes, E-cig or any kind of any type of smoking.

  • Shoes off, Please. Please remove your shoes while you're in the house

  • No loud noise or music after 10pm. We have neighbors who live around all year long, and this is our community. Please respect it.

  • No outdoor trash or food leftovers. You are in nature. Your food or even closed garbage bags will attract animals, especially at night.

Check-In/Out Times

  • Check-in: 3 PM (We’ll do our best to accommodate earlier arrivals!)

  • Check-out: By: 10:00AM (Our cleaner arrives at 10:15 AM, so please plan accordingly.)

We can try to be flexible with your timing, including late arrivals, just let us know in advance.

🔑Entering the House

Welcome to our home! If you arrive late at night, there will be a flashlight as you enter, and some lights leading to the house. The front deck of the house is accessible via a few steps (and an entrance). Keep an eye on your steps, especially in the winter. It can be extremely slippery

🔑The Keys

  • The keys are located on an electronic lockbox on a shade next to the parking lot. It’s located next to the first door, just a few steps away. Touch the lock to activate the screen. The code is 152815

Open the lockbox, and take the keys with you.

Please remember to return the key before checking out!

🚪How to Unlock the Door

  • Please use the main entrance. Just walk towards the deck next to the outdoor dining table. Use the Blue Key

  • This is a double lock door, in order to use the key, first turn the handle up, turn on the key and unlock the door, and then turn the handle down and push the door in.

  • The same if you want to lock the door, when you leave the house.

  • The Silver Big Key is for the small bedroom entrance. Most of the time guests choose not to use this door.

Heating & Cooling

Air Condition

  • Each room has a brand new ductless A/C, next to each one you’ll find the remote on the wall to operate the A/C. Select your preferred temperature using the AC's keypad.

  • The house is equipped with a heated floor. You’ll find the switches in each bathroom and next to the fire place in the living room. This can make the house very warm. We advice not to turn it on during hot days.

Fireplace & Heated Floors

  • In the living room you’ll find our gas real flame fireplace. To turn it on just use the remote control next to it. You can adjust the flame and amount of heat you want. The place will be very warm in no time. Please be careful as the glass can become very hot!

  • Please keep small kids away from it while it turns on and at least an hour after you close it.

    • Equipped with 1GB of internet speed.

**Note: Please keep in mind that if the local lines lose power during your stay, connectivity may suffer; unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it.

  • 📶 Cell reception on your phone may vary. You may get better reception outside on the deck, but the best way to call is to connect your phone to the house wifi and use that.

  • 🧼Fresh towels and shampoo are provided for your convenience.

  • 🚽For the comfort of all guests, PLEASE ONLY FLUSH TOILET PAPER—nothing else! Please AVOID flushing anything else (including wipes, feminine products, or paper towels), as it can cause blockages and disrupt your stay.

If a clog occurs due to improper flushing, the cost of repairs will be CHARGED TO THE GUEST. Let’s keep the water flowing and your stay stress-free! 😊

🗑️Trash & Recycling

  • The trash cans are outside, near the house's main entrance.

  • Collection is Thursday early mornings, so if you're staying during the week, please take all trash out by Wednesday night.

  • Please tie garbage bags before placing them in the trash cans. To avoid unwanted guests, do not leave trash bags outside!

🏡Outdoor Area

We highly recommend closing the screens EVERY TIME you step outside or inside even for a few seconds.

🛶Dock

  • Take care when walking down the stairs or on the dock. It can be slick during the winter. The dock is usually in place between Memorial Day and the last week of November; for the rest of the year, we must remove it.

  • During the summer days you can enjoy the lake's clear, crisp water. You can swim, kayak, fish (if you have a New York license), or simply take a dip in the water.

  • The green kayaks are yours to use.

  • The outside box contains a safety life vests . It is critical that you use them while kayaking or if you are not a good swimmer. Not wearing them is putting your own safety at risk.

🫕BBQ

  • You can use the BBQ whenever you want and if the weather permits.

Please ensure that you understand how to use a propane tank.

1. Once finished, turn off the tank's valve.

2. Please clean the grill and store it for future use.

3. Make sure the grill has cooled before covering it.

4. Never leave the grill turned on and unattended. It has the potential to start a fire. 5. It is possible if the propane tank is emptied. Please notify us so that we can swap it for you or the next guest. We usually keep an extra in the garage.

6. In an emergency, you can replace it at the nearest gas station and we will reimburse you.

🍂Leaves

  • During the Autumn season, our trees will shed all of their leaves. We clean our property every two weeks, but you may notice leaves on the grass and on our balcony even after it has been cleaned. If you want to use it, we have a leaf blower. Please contact us for further information.

🪔Outside Firepit

  • Both are working with propane gas. Use the switch to turn them it and off. Don’t forget to turn them off when you done or when you leaving the deck for a long time.

  • If you small gas, turn them off immediately and don’t use it anymore until we inspect it.

Hi, You are in nature 🌲

Ants, spiders, and other flying insects will be present outside and, on rare occasions, inside. The house is well-protected, but please remember to close all doors, windows, and nets when leaving the house, even if only for a minute.

You can find insect spary in the kitchem; if you want, you can replant them outside.

Please don’t leave any outdoor trash or food leftovers. Animals will be drawn to your food or even to a closed garbage bags that are left outside, especially at night.

If you see a spider or other incest in the house, use the vacuum to get rid of it. (Alternatively, if you prefer)

The seasons change even more dramatically in nature. Leaves will fall and remain on the ground; branches may fall; and snow may accumulate. Please be aware of it and proceed with caution.

There are a lot of wandering deers in our area. They are magnificent creatures, and they may wander onto our property. Please do not frighten them; they will leave quietly. It's lovely to see them early in the morning. If you close the fence at night, they are less likely to come in. Also, be extra cautious when driving on the roads, especially at night.

🌊 Make the Most of the Lake. Stay Safe and Have Fun!!

Enjoy the peaceful waters, but please keep these safety tips in mind:

  • The lake is yours to enjoy at your own risk: We strongly recommend wearing a life vest, even for experienced swimmers.

  • Expect mud and rocks on the lake bottom: Water shoes will make swimming more comfortable.

  • The lake depth changes with the seasons, so no jumping from the dock!

  • Kayak & Paddleboard Rules: Always wear a life vest. When finished, tie kayaks back in place and return the paddleboard to the lawn so they don’t drift away.

  • Dogs are welcome to swim under your supervision: Please be mindful of their safety.

  • Want to rent a boat? There’s an additional charge. Just contact us in advance!

We’ve also put together a Guidebook with our favorite restaurants, local eats, and day trips.
